  1. Hello, fellow Sarahs!

Ok, what is up with all the Sarahs with “E” middle names. Because my middle name isn’t Elizabeth, but its in that general family and it starts with “E”. I think our mothers planned this…

I decided last year I wanted a nickname and I started to try and go by “Ivy” because that name is really pretty to me. But that didn’t catch on AT ALL. So when the new school year started, I decided to go by an actual “Sarah” nickname. And the first one I found was “Sally”. So now, at school (and only at school) I go by Sally (except for my friends who knew me as Sarah). It’s perfect for me because it feels sort of country-like and I live in a somewhat rural area in the Mid-Atlantic (I like to consider my state to be in the north-eastern region, because I love New England, but what the heck) region of the U.S. And I act like a country girl, too (even though I lived in a suburban neighborhood just across town from where I live now until I was 10). I use words like “ain’t” and other things like that which my mom HATES. But I love it. On the contrary, my brother acts like a city boy, even though he’s lived in the suburbs and a rural area all his life (actually, we’re only about 15 minutes out of town, but we live on a country road and there’s lots of farms on it). Goodbye, fellow Sarahs!

  5. Ok Sadie, Sally, Sam Sam??? makes no sense to me. My mom and sister call me Sarah Beara or Sarebear. My friends calls me Cher (Share) as a joke because my little niece couldn’t say Sarah and would say Cher. As she got older Cher evolved into Chera and eventually Sarah, but the name Cher still stays with my friends. In settings with multiple Sarah’s I just go by my last initial or ‘tall Sarah’ as I’m usually the tallest in the group.
I work with a majority of spanish speakers who pronounce it Sada or Sarai and I don’t mind that one bit. I HATE when people say it weird like Saw-ra

  7. yay, Sarahs unite!! My mom uses Sare-Bear for me quite a bit. Also, usually when I’m in a setting with a bunch of other Sarah’s, to avoid confusion I just have people call me “Essa” (EH-sah) or “Essie”.
